On the first week of winter break I attended a camp the Leadershape Institute. I didn't have a lot of expectations going into the week, as I had attended other leadership workshops, but LeaderShape was different. Each day there was a different theme that related with how to be a great leader such as Bringing Vision to Reality, with our Tomorrow's Headline activity, and The Value of One, The Power of All, with our DISC personality test. While I was there I not only learned important skills on how to be a better leader, but also got to reflect on my own leadership qualities which was invaluable. I reflected on my values and how important integrity is in leadership. Leadershape showed me that things should be always be done the "right" way which might not always be the easiest.
Leadershape also taught me to incorporate all different kinds of people in a decision as certain people might be more experienced in the area than you. An example of this actually came up in our small group discussions as we were completing a survival activity and my group had two boy scouts who were very knowledgeable and helped us make the best decisions.
